Holly Leitner grew up in the rolling hills of western Wisconsin but spent many of her forming years in the unknown, yet artistically rich, city of Milwaukee. It was in that city where she finished her bachelor of fine arts in art and photography. She recently moved to Oregon, where she is pursuing her master's in magazine journalism at the University of Oregon. Before moving west, she worked as a magazine staff writer and photographer and continues to freelance for several regional publications. Her photographic and written stories include profiles of: a family legacy of wooden boat makers, a farming camp for kids, and a group of nationally renowned snow sculptors. Upon graduation, she hopes to continue using a blend of documentary photography and creative narrative writing about traditional cultures, strange subcultures, and travel... then, eventually publish her own magazine. After that, she might invest in a winery and take up knitting.
