Emily made her way through college slinging burgers and microbrews to famished Oregonians. Now that she has entered her senior year at the University of Oregon as a magazine journalism major and art minor, the beer stench and ketchup stains are beginning to fade. Outside of the pub, she took advantage of the art department's photography, printmaking, and letterpress facilities to round out her design education and is now diving head first into the world of digital media. In addition to tackling Flux's website redesign, Emily is also the designer for the "By Her Design" feature. When she isn't designing print layouts or battling her way through a crash course in web design, Emily daydreams of her upcoming train trip across the country — a two-month European backpacking adventure. Upon her return to reality, she hopes to design for a magazine in Portland and spend the rest of her free time brushing up on movies, drawing, bicycling, bowling, and cooking.
