Assisting with Light

by Danielle Towne last modified 2009-05-07 21:51
Some of the coolest parts of being on FLUX have been assisting with shoots. Whether capturing images of Leslie jumping on a trampoline, or filming Rick rappelling off the side of Ninkasi Brewery, I have been surrounded by creative energy that have both baffled me and pushed me to learn more about the art of photography and film. The use of light in shoots was foreign to me until a month and a half ago -- and being exposed to the power of artificial light has pushed me to experiment in my own shoots. I hope to continue using strobe lights in shoots to come and using my newfound knowledge in projects to come.

I'm glad you're taking the challenges of light head on! Light can be your best friend and worst enemy but if you learn how to grab it by the balls then at least you know you can do some rad stuff. Let's light up sometime (and I'm not referring to drugs you naughty people who thought otherwise).
