Packing:
Do's and Dont's when bringing a living room into the woods.
If you're going to pack the following things into your car...
- 2 people
- 1 Couch
- 1 Light Kit
- 1 Lamp
- 1 Full backpacking Backpack
- and 1 End Table
Don't...
- Forget to charge the battery for the light kit.
Thankfully, I had planned enough time for the shoot, and the light kit didn't end up being absolutely necessary, though the grid reflector it contained made the on-camera flash a possibility (even if it looked goofy using it). That said, you have some very interesting conversations with people when you've brought a couch up to the top of Skinner's Butte and set it up, complete with end table and lamp. People thought we were doing everything from a 4/20 photo shoot (on 4/23?) to just enjoying a nice afternoon on the Butte. Talk about an ice-breaker! I have to say, despite the amount of effort it took actually get the couch up there, I might have to bring it up another time just to enjoy the view.
You never know what strange things will happen during a photo shoot. I thought shooting a girl doing hand-stands in a dumpster would be the weirdest thing I would shoot this week.
